The Polar Express

We have begun graphing some very important Christmas questions, like do you hang stockings or no stockings, do you open presents on Christmas eve or Christmas day, and this week is no different. Soon we will be asking the students, ‘What is your favorite Christmas story – ‘The Polar Express’ or ‘Rudolph the Red nosed Reindeer’? We have already read the story of Rudolph and Tuesday we watched ‘The Polar Express’ be read to us by Lou Diamond Phillips. Friday we will be collecting our dats to see which story gets the most votes and which gets the least. HMMMMM!

I linked the site to Storylineonline to the picture if you and your child want to check it out. It is fun and they have some great stories.

Letter People and other Links

Children learn in so many ways that when I heard the Letter People were still helping students learn I had to include them on our blog and in our classroom. We watched Mr. C today and the children loved it. It may be a way to help your child continue to grow in their learning. There is a link under alphabet games.

I was also shown two great sites with tons of alphabet games, counting, and other math activities. Check out these two links for fun ways to learn.

I apologize for my lapse in updating our blog. I continue to work to make this beneficial for you and your child.

As we practice numbers in the teens, which are very difficult to master, I searched and added games and practice activities that may help your child with this skill. I hope it is helpful. I will add them to the tabs on the right as well.

Today, we discovered all about BATS! Mya wasn’t sure it would make for good writing in our journal, but other students were very interested in these nocturnal mammals. Ask your child what nocturnal means and what a mammal is.
